“I was born with hemophilia, a life threatening, incurable disease. To this day, there is no cure for my illness, only expensive life-sustaining medications.
As a child, my parents worked hard to pay for my medicine, until the day came when my insurance ran out. I had reached the maximum allowable lifetime coverage. My plans for school had to change, so I could find a job that offered health insurance.
Most everything I do revolves around my continued ability to pay for medication. I know what it’s like to worry about paying for prescription drugs and I wanted to do something to help others experiencing these same worries. Perhaps equally important, I wanted to find a way to contribute to the various non-profit organizations supporting worthy causes, including those researching cures for disease with new medicines.
